The problem-solver who never backs down from a challenge
Driven by childhood curiosity and a hands-on mindset, Martin has turned his passion into a career pushing the boundaries of what is possible in heavy mechanics every day.
From Childhood Curiosity to Heavy Mechanics in Northern Sweden
In Övertorneå, in the far north of Sweden, we meet Martin Brännvall Hietala, 34, who has turned a childhood interest into a profession. From an early age, he was fascinated by taking things apart and putting them back together. A curiosity that would eventually lead him into the world of heavy mechanics.
A Dynamic Workday
Today, Martin works as a heavy mechanic while also being active on social media. No two days are the same. One day in the workshop, the next out on the road or on assignments in other locations. It is this variation that makes the job both challenging and exciting.
Family and Passion Combined
His interest in the profession developed naturally, not least thanks to the family business where he works alongside his relatives. Being able to combine passion with family has become a natural part of his everyday life.
Challenges and Problem Solving
One of the biggest challenges in his work, Martin explains, is electrical systems. An area that requires precision and continuous learning. At the same time, the most rewarding moments come when he succeeds with what others consider impossible, especially when it involves creating his own solutions, tools, or components.
Tools of the Trade
When it comes to equipment, Martin uses a wide range of tools daily, with the impact wrench being one of the most frequently used. To stay up to date, he often turns to the internet and social media, where new techniques and working methods spread quickly.
Using Sievert Products in Everyday Work
In his daily work, Martin primarily uses Sievert products when working out in the field. They serve as versatile tools. From heating bolts, nuts, hoses, and hydraulic components to thawing locks, warming air tanks, or even boiling water and keeping his hands warm on cold days. In the workshop, he complements them with induction heaters but emphasizes that the gas torch remains indispensable for tasks such as heat shrink tubing, hose assembly, or removing decals and window film.
Beyond Work
Outside of work, Sievert products also have a place in Martin’s everyday life, for example, for quickly lighting the grill or even for certain desserts at home.
Always Ready for the Next Challenge
With a strong combination of experience, creativity, and curiosity, Martin continues to grow in his profession—always ready to take on the next challenge, whether in the workshop or out on the road. For those considering a future in mechanics, he has a clear message: the demand for skilled mechanics will always remain. Not everything can be solved with a computer—practical knowledge and true craftsmanship are essential.
