Frequently Asked Questions

The Sievert Thermoweld is a versatile solution for various materials. The standard 40mm nozzle model is designed for thermoplastic membranes including PE, PVC, TPO, ECB, EPDM, and CSPE. For specialized projects, we also offer dedicated models specifically engineered for Bitumen applications.

To accommodate different job site power infrastructures, the Thermoweld is available in two main voltage configurations:

  • 230V Units: Operates at 4600W with a 20A fuse rating.
  • 400V Units: Operates at 5700W with a 16A fuse rating.
  • Both versions are compatible with 50/60 Hz frequencies and include a 5-meter power cord.

The Thermoweld offers a broad range of adjustments to ensure consistent seams regardless of ambient conditions:

  • Temperature: Fully adjustable from 20°C to 620°C.
  • Speed: Variable drive speeds from 0.5 to 14 meters per minute.
  • Air Flow: Adjustable between 250 and 500 liters per minute to control heat distribution.

No. One of the core design philosophies of the Thermoweld is simplicity. It is intentionally free from apps, connectivity, and unnecessary digital features, focusing instead on manual control and reliability to ensure consistent seams with minimal effort.

We recommend you to consult your membrane manufacturer. We also recommend you to always run a test weld so you can ensure the machine is correctly setup.

Make sure that the extension cable is fitted with a protective earth conductor and a minimum diameter of 2.5 mm².

If you receive S-ERROR on the display, please contact your nearest authorized service center.

If the set welding temperature has not been reached after 5 minutes, please follow directions below.

1. Check the power supply
2. Reduce the air flow
3. Heating element failure. To change the heating element, check the instruction manual.

Welding defiency:

If you notice the machine not welding properly:

1. Check the drive speed, welding temperature, air flow and weights
2. Clean the welding nozzle with the cleaning brush.
3. Welding nozzle set incorrectly. Adjust the welding nozzle according to the instruction manual.
